Finding St Ives

Car
The main route for entering St Ives is the A3074 road from the A30 into St Ives through Lelant and Carbis Bay. There is an alternative route into St Ives from Lelant Saltings via Hasletown.

Rail/Train
Penwith is at the end of the Great Western mainline. There are 5 train operating companies serving Penwith: First Great Western, Virgin, Wessex Trains, Arriva Trains Wales and South West Trains. The nearest mainline station is St Erth. The St Ives branch line has stations at St Erth, Lelant Saltings(Park & Ride), Lelant Village, Carbis Bay and St Ives.

Coach
Long distance scheduled coach services within the county and beyond are operated as commercial concerns by National Express. The town's bus station is at the Malakoff, close to the Train Station.

Air
Ryanair and Air Southwest/Eastern Airways offer daily services to Newquay Airport from London Stanstead, London Gatwick, Bristol, Dublin, Leeds, Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Cork. The car journey from Newquay to St Ives takes approximately 40 minutes.

Bus
There are frequent bus services that run from the centre of the town to Penzance, Truro, Lands End and Helston. The main bus station is known as the Malakoff and is adjacent to the Railway Station, just a few minutes walk out of town. The Western Greyhound Bus Service also operates from the Malakoff visiting lovely coastal/rural locations such as Zennor (home of the famous Tinner's Arms) and the Gurnard's Head

Park & Ride
With car access to the town restricted and sometimes very difficult (especially in Summer) so why not leave your car at Lelant and let the train take the strain? At Lelant Saltings Car Park there is a Park & Ride. Then enjoy a 3-mile journey to St Ives on one of the frequent trains along one of the most scenic lines in the UK, if not the the world. You arrive within easy walking distance of the town centre, harbour and beaches.  Call 0345 484950 for further details.
